“Hope is the dream of those who are not asleep, and we are wide awake.” WB
Each of these pieces is a fragment of my journey —moments captured not with words, but through textures, lines, and vibrant contrasts. My work blends the figurative with the abstract, creating a dialogue between emotion and spontaneity. Recurring symbols, like the ever-present coffee pot, invite the viewer to find meaning in the everyday. Welcome to a visual narrative that speaks from instinct, memory, and the joy of simply being alive.
My art is a reflection of how I see and feel the world imperfect, spontaneous, human. In this gallery, you’ll find pieces that blend abstraction with everyday symbols, inviting you to pause, observe, and connect. Let the colors speak for themselves.
I was born in Maracaibo, Zulia State, on July 22, 1967. From a very young age, I felt a natural inclination toward art, which truly came to life during my studies at the “Bellas Artes” school. That’s where I discovered my true vocation, leading me to enroll at Cecilio Acosta University to study Visual Arts.
My first group exhibition took place in Maracaibo at the Casa de Morales, where I showcased a series of wood engravings. Years later, after moving to Miami —where I’ve lived since 1995— I held my first solo exhibition in a gallery on the iconic Calle Ocho. However, like many artists, I had to put my art on hold for a while in order to make a living through other work. Still, the creative urge never left me.
My third exhibition was a group show alongside artists from various parts of the world, held at a bank in Coral Gables. Today, I work from my studio in Doral, Florida, where I’ve fully reconnected with my artistic journey and continue preparing for new exhibitions.
My work is rooted in freedom —freedom of color and composition— blending figurative and abstract elements to reflect my own way of seeing and interpreting the world. I often say, “I don’t know how to draw,” yet the human figure frequently appears in my paintings in a deeply personal style. One recurring motif in my work is the coffee pot, along with other elements that capture the everyday ritual of enjoying a cup of coffee. It’s my way of connecting with what is human, simple, and real.
